‘Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death
and upon those in the tombs bestowing life’
Easter Troparion
The dark days of Lent are over, the waiting is passed, and this morning we meet Jesus! The joy of the resurrection is revealed, first to the women, and then to all of Jesus’ disciples.
Over the past 40 days we have each in our own way trodden the path of self examination, repentance, fasting and sorrow. Let us now with equal commitment turn our attention to feasting and celebration, for today is the day when all things become possible. May the joy of the resurrection colour every aspect of your life and extend to all those around you this Easter.
Christ is risen!
He is Risen indeed! shalom to all – davex

cheers Clare, I love the physicality in that quote – ‘trampling down’, and ‘those in the tombs’.
it’s truly powerful to reflect on the dynamic power of the resurrection, despite the complex dimensions and difficulties of life, Jesus is alive and present. We can be achieving creative splendour, or a hairs breadth from despair, in either Christ greets us in our pride and in our shame.

Let me echo previous thoughts … He is risen indeed!
Easter blessings to everyone. And can I say what a priviledge it was to celebrate with the Sanctuary service yesterday. Thanks Clare, Sonia and Iain for your fantastic planning. xxx

He is risen, thank you for the hope that brings us.
Thanks for organising the blog again this year Clare, it has been really thought provoking.

May I second Sonia’s comments. Thanks Clare – after all my good intentions, I have to say, with some embarrassment, that the blog was probably my most disciplined activity during Lent! So thank you for organising it and thanks to all who provided such a diversity of reflection! I didn’t just check in and read but was able to take it away to chew over it. Love to all my Sanctuary ‘family’ and may your entire Easter season be blessed! xx

It was my most disciplined lent activity as well!. I intended to read my lent book each day, but found myself redoing the “every day with jesus” experience from childhood!. (Intended to read daily, failed so read a months worth in one sitting feeling very guilty!!!)

hahaha. your comment made me laugh sonia! I remember that guilt feeling from my teenage years…funny how those things stay with you isn’t it? !!!?
I’ve loved the lent blog and all the great contributions from everyone. It would be good to keep up the activity level on the blog a bit – watch this space for further ideas to stimulate our thinking, learning and reflecting together.

oh boy, me too, I can’t read anything that takes me back to that bewlidered contrition. I slaved away faithfully with the Quest notes, only to feel flumoxed.
now I have to find ways to pray and read the bible, that either open up an imaginitve or relational sphere. fortunatly there’s plenty of good stuff out there.
