Greenbelt 07

msp6.jpg Thanks to all those families who came and joined us in the messy space this year. We had a lot of fun helping you paint, glue, dig, build, play, dress up and drink coffee! We were overwhelmed by the success of the venue and the positive feedback we had from so many of you. Please let Greenbelt know if you enjoyed your visit and would like to see it happen again next year, bigger and better!

Sanctuary also ran one service in the worship programme this year, an all-age communion. Lack of available low tables meant we had to spread out our communion table on the floor, so it was more of a picnic than anything else! It was moving to see children of all ages (some very young) getting involved in this sacrament. Apparently the involvement of children in communion is a current hot debate in the Anglican church (or so I’m told by people who follow these things), so we’d love to hear your views on it.

We used a movie called twelve stations in the service which is available from Proost. We also hope to make the liturgy we wrote for the occasion available soon via this site - check the resources section over the coming weeks.

Thanks for setting this up Clare, some great photos. I loved seeing families relaxing and playing together in our venue this weekend, for me it was a glimpse at the wonder of God’s creation. Thank you to all the team who worked so hard.

Clare, love the slide show, i second sonia’s comments and seeing families being together in our venue at GB - Roll on next year!

great to see images of the service, I particualry like the bubble prayer image. It was brilliant to see families being able to fully participate in communion together.

Your an amazing woman Clare- this is great! Will you teach me how, some time? Exhaustingly thrilling to do messy space with you all. These images are a beautiful reminder of the wonder and worship of play. Thanks. Liz xx
