“Thank you so much for messy space. It’s made greenbelt possible for us. God bless you all.” (comment from visitors book 08)
Messy Space 08 – bigger, noisier and even more fun that last year. We painted, glued, drew, dressed up, laughed, played and generally made a big old mess together. We even had a visiting wallaby! Now that was a surprise. It was so busy we didn’t have time to take many photos, but you can see the ones we did get below. We also had a visit or two from the official Greenbelt photographer. In our messy way, we were exploring the theme of family and what that means to us – in the Sanctuary 9am worship slot we listened together to the story of Ruth and Naomi, illustrated for us by Jon Birch of Asbojesus, then responded creatively through pictures, model making, and prayer rituals. An outline of the service will be made available shortly on our Resources page.
A big thank you to all of those who helped to make Messy Space: team, families and those groups who braved the 9am worship slot. As ever in the world of volunteering, your reward is in heaven…!

I think sanctuary ‘did good’! at greenbelt this year. messy space looked fab, we have had some great comments in the feedback book. The team worked amazingly hard- thank you all of you. Lots of people had fun, were moved by the banners, the space and seemed to understand that we can meet God through playing and making things. We will post photos up soon.
Was good to meet some people that had posted here- great to meet Carole and her family.

Messy Space was a great experience again – I so enjoyed working on the cafe and chatting to the punters (well most of them…!) A big thank you to Sonia and all the team for making it happen and also to everyone who came to play…

Speaking as a casual observer and coffee customer, there was no doubt that Messy Space filled a huge need for young families. Well done to all who were involved!
